Full Description Term Time Only Jobs

Permanent, full-time ((36 hours per week), all-year round
Starting March 2024 (or negotiable)
Salary: £29,179 – £30,829 inclusive per annum
We’re looking for an experienced and committed Administrative Assistant to work in a busy and friendly office with a full-time Office Manager and a full-time, term-time only Administrative Assistant. This is an exciting opportunity to join a very successful sixth form college. The post-holder will provide a full range of administrative support in the main office and to other departments across the College. The successful applicant will manage an interesting and diverse workload whilst often liaising with staff, students, parents and the general public.
We are looking for someone with excellent interpersonal and organisational skills, a positive attitude and plenty of enthusiasm who is able to work under pressure and use own initiative. As the first point of contact at the College, a professional and welcoming manner is essential. Sound knowledge of Microsoft Office, competency with databases and a good telephone manner are also required.
The salary will be in the range of Point 11 to 13 on the sixth form college support staff salary spine, dependent upon experience. This is currently £26,097 – £27,747 plus £3,082 Outer London Allowance.

Essential Requirements of Term Time Only Jobs

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and telephone manner, as the first point of contact at the College.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to multi task.
  • Good written English with a GCSE Grade C minimum or equivalent in English Language.
  • Good IT skills including a working knowledge of MS Word and Excel.
  • The ability to work under pressure calmly.
  • The ability to work well within a team and independently using own initiative.
  • A positive and enthusiastic manner.
  • Enjoy working with people at all levels and throughout the college community.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • A flexible approach to workload and working hours.
  • A commitment to safeguarding the interests and needs of young people.

Desirable Requirements
  • Willingness to undertake First Aid training.
  • Experience of Publisher.
  • Experience of working in a school/college environment.
