Role title: Strategy Manager, Vodafone Business
Location: Newbury/ Paddington

Role Purpose

  • To support the development and execution of strategic projects that will define and drive the future success of Vodafone Business. The role will focus on Product Portfolio-centric, market-centric or Corporate-centric strategies. It will involve working alongside our Principal Strategy Managers, to identify growth opportunities and formulate strategies that Vodafone Business continually out-performs our competition. The role will be responsible for demonstrating customer focus and external orientation to bring new ideas and thinking to Vodafone Business.
  • The role will require a strong strategic mindset, exceptional analytical skills, good understanding of communications and IT technology and an excellent track record of successfully defining strategic plans.
  • This role will require regular discussions at Director level within Vodafone Business, where clarity of thought & communication, based on deep insight and rigorous methodology is crucial.

What you’ll do

  • Working alongside Principal Strategy Managers, distil market analysis, customer and competitive intelligence, industry and technology trends into usable insight for compelling strategy formulation.
  • Liaise with product managers and key stakeholders in our markets in order to identify opportunities for growth in our portfolios and markets
  • Lead smaller strategy projects (single product/market) following Vodafone Business tried and tested strategic techniques
  • Regularly review analyst & industry news reports and identify trends/developments and events that could have an impact on our strategies or our future ability to compete effectively. Highlight these to the rest of the VB Strategy team (Principal strategy Mangers & other Strategy Managers)

Who you are

  • Experience at formulating strategy as part of a product management/ commercial/ marketing position and/or through a management consulting/ strategy role.
  • Understanding of our products and services; high level of commercial expertise is required including understanding of product P&L, unit economics, profitability and product lifecycle management.
  • Strong focus on execution, with a result driven attitude and detail-oriented approach, while being comfortable to navigate through ambiguity to define direction and recommendations in an effective and timely. manner.
  • Strong capability in articulating complex ideas with authority and making the case for change.
  • Strong presentation and influencing skills.
