In this role, you’ll:

Play a key role in planning and deploying crew strategically, including placement of standby and emergency relief crew, and return working arrangements for Crew from outer depots, with the aim of ensuring the most efficient and cost-effective coverage of the current daily roster.

In the case of disruptions, you would be required to identify risks and come up with a mitigation plan to ensure seamless and risk free operation minimising impacts on quality customer service delivery.

You communicate effectively with train crew and leadership to ensure optimum outcome and work towards creating an environment in which staff are encouraged to accept and initiate change. You have a continuous improvement mindset and are always critically analysing each procedure/step to generate opportunities for enhancing efficiency and effectiveness

About you

You have a good understanding or knowledge of the Regional network and are well versed with OpCrew (the rostering system) or willing to learn it. You have a good grasp on the rostering guidelines (DRWA, OBRAWA, EA, Stable Rostering Code workplace agreements, award terms and conditions, SMS Rostering guidelines, fatigue management) to be able to deliver Day of Operations rostering requirements. You are diligent, resourceful and a problem solver who possesses great attention to detail and leadership capabilities.

Any knowledge of the NSW Trains Network and services, including comprehensive operational knowledge of Train Crewing, On Board Crewing and NSW Trains policies and procedures, Awards and Operating Agreements and relevant legislation, e.g. Rail Safety Act, Transport Administration Act, and the Public Finance and Audit Act would set you up for success in this critical role.

You must be willing to commit to shift work 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, including weekends, nights and public holidays.
