Senior Healthcare Assistant (Private GP Clinic)

Cromwell Hospital, Primary Care, Pennant Mews, W8 5JN

Salary ranges from £29,050 to £31,150 plus fantastic benefits.

Permanent, Full time, 37.5hrs pw (4 days pw between the hours of 8am-6pm)

As a senior healthcare assistant at Cromwell Hospital our patients will be your top priority. The purpose of this role is to contribute to the delivery of holistic care needs to patients whilst ensuring a high standard of nursing care.

 

How you’ll help us make health happen:

  • Participate in the delivery of a consistent, safe service in all aspects of the patient journey, from greeting and orientating through to discharge.
  • Prepare and oversee clinic rooms and escort patients for investigations whilst demonstrating a culture of excellent patient care.
  • Assist with undertaking patients’ blood pressure, weight, height, and blood sugar readings. Maintain up to date care records and observations charts.
  • Acquire a sound knowledge of the pathology tests and the relevant blood/sample containers. Issue pathology results to patients as directed by the GP.
  • Assist in all Cromwell Hospital health screens in conjunction with the clinical team, take an active role in planning and co-ordinating all health screens.

 

Key Skills / Qualifications needed for this role:

  • Experience as a Healthcare Assistant (essential)
  • NVQ Level 2 (Direct Patient Care) or equivalent (desirable)
  • Venepuncture skills / Phlebotomy skills (essential)
  • Experience in a primary care or outpatient setting (desirable)
  • Experience in clinical audit (desirable)
  • Knowledge of the Care Standards Act and Care Quality Commission Requirements.
