About this Role

Epping St John are looking for a skilled, compassionate and committed individual to start June 2024 to work with a named child with special educational needs in our wonderful team of staff and children. You must possess excellent communication skills and have a real willingness to support both the learning, social, emotional and behavioral needs of the child.

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has experience of working with children with SEND.
  • Can provide one to one support to the specific student with medical intimate care including intermitted catheterization (full training will be provided by LEA and BMAT).
  • To encourage acceptance and inclusion of the student.
  • Establish a supportive, professional and trusting relationship with the student.
  • Makes the school a fun, caring and a nurturing environment for the child that you support.
  • Is able to work with a range of professionals to support the child’s needs to ensure outcomes are met.
  • Can develop methods of promoting/reinforcing the student’s self-esteem and independence.
  • Can support with supervisory duties during some lunchtime and break time(s).
  • Will support the student to attend extra-curricular activities .
  • Can understand and respect the students’ views so they can be supported and included effectively.
  • Will ensure that the special needs of the student, as described in the statement of Educational Needs / Education, Health & Care Plans are supported.
  • Is able attend to the student’s personal needs, including help with social, welfare and health matters/ first aid.

R Regular Co-Educator duties to be assumed during hours when not supporting a child with an EHCP.

You will get the opportunity to work within an experienced team whilst building upon your own skills and knowledge.
