The Referral To Treatment (RTT) Validation Team Leader will be responsible for the day to day supervision of the RTT Validation Team with a remit for undertaking detailed patient level validation to ensure accurate
and robust information to support performance reporting, high data quality and to assist in managing patients’ through their RTT pathway.

The Trust is undergoing a major change in the collection of 18 weeks information through a new Data Information System providing efficient Patient Tracking List (PTL), a new Patient Administration System
(PAS) upgrade and associated changes in processes. This will have a significant effect on existing staff groups involved in 18 week data collection and recording as well as inpatient, outpatient and other
administrative staff groups.

This post will help support the change process ensuring that the Trust has
sustainable processes in place for maintaining high quality RTT data, and effective management of RTT wait times.

  • To supervise on a day to day basis the RTT Validation Coordinators responsible for ensuring first line validation is undertaken and PAS is updated for all “legacy” patients.
  • To support validation arising out of the PAS upgrade during the initial go live and whilst Divisional and Medical Records processes are embedded within the Trust.
  • Assist in the development, implementation and monitoring of compliance of relevant processes and procedures needed to manage an effective RTT Validation Team ensuring deliverables are met to agreed timescales and quality standards.
  • Planning, prioritisation and allocation of work packages for all team members.
  • Assisting the induction process for all new team members.
  • To provide specialist RTT knowledge, training and support for team members, as well as Outpatient and Inpatient Booking teams to improve their effectiveness.
  • To co-ordinate the work of the team members ensuring validation targets for both volume and accuracy are met in line with strict timescales.
