Role overview

We are looking for an enthusiastic and proactive People Coordinator, to work closely with the Senior People Partner and People Advisor in the application of People Policies and Practices, to minimise risk to the business and support a positive employee experience.

As a people Coordinator at MHP Group you will:

  • Build HR knowledge to be able to advise employees appropriately
  • Manage and take the lead on various employee life cycle events, including but not limited to:

Leading and managing the new joiner process

Pre-boarding: Working with the Talent Partner and Practice Coordinators to ensure that a communication, orientation plan & equipment is in place

Onboarding: Coordination with key internal teams such as IT, the support team, and reception, to ensure a smooth first day

Ensuring that all right to work checks and information for payroll is acquired and recorded. Be the first point of contact with new starters, to answer any questions relating to the onboarding process, benefits, and or contractual-related questions, and first day logistics.

Induction: Being available to greet new joiners and deliver a HR Induction

Probation & New Joiner Check Ins

Proactively liaising with and confirming to Senior People Partner, line manager and individual around leaving arrangements, as soon as possible after resignation

Hold exit Interviews

Assist with training schedules

Staff Benefits: being the expert in using the HR information system and the online benefits portal. Be the first point of contact for all queries and have a solution-based approach to any issues that may arise.

Policies: Deputise in the people advisor’s absence, to advise employees of their entitlement during absence (Annual Leave; Family Leave (inc. maternity / paternity, etc.) and the support MHP Group offers.

Take ownership and responsibility for the intern programme and work experience candidates from a People Team perspective

Understand the importance of data and metrics in developing and delivering impactful People solutions and strategies

Payroll: Maintain the Payroll tracker to ensure it is fully updated as part of the monthly payroll cut off, ensuring that all employee data is collated accurately and submitted in a timely fashion

Build relationships across MHP Group and the Next 15 group,

The successful candidate will:

  • You ideally have experience of working in a fast paced, professional role with some exposure to and understanding of HR.
  • You have exceptional customer service skills/experience, and always strive to deliver great results.
  • You are flexible and can adapt your personal communication style to a wide variety of senior stakeholders
  • You have excellent organisational skills and attention to detail and can spot an issue a mile off!
  • You are proactive and use initiative. You are able to self-manage your time and tasks, but know when to escalate when necessary
  • You love getting stuck in and supporting the team with a wide range of tasks that sometimes may fall outside of your job spec
  • You are comfortable dealing with extremely confidential information and exercising discretion at all times
  • You have a good knowledge of MS Office Package, particularly Excel data manipulation and Word mail merge.
  • You have an understanding and awareness of relevant HR legislation
