Applications are invited from suitably qualified medical/dental practitioners for the above position in the Nepean Blue Mountains Local Health District. The position will be primarily located at Nepean Hospital within the Department of Anaesthesia and Pain Management.

Successful applicants will be able to provide high quality clinical leadership within a multidisciplinary team comprising pain physicians, nursing, and Allied Health staff as well as trainees. The ability to innovate and lead change, engage across a wide diversity of clinicians and problem solve are key attributes.

Appointees may be eligible for credentialing and privileging across all other facilities in the Nepean Blue Mountains Local Health District.

Selection Criteria

 

1. Possess or be eligible for registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)

2. Demonstrated current clinical knowledge and technical expertise in contemporary clinical practice in the relevant specialty.

3. Demonstrated commitment to basic, applied, or clinical research, medical education, and staff training.

4. Demonstrated managerial ability in strategic clinical services planning and the provision of patient focused comprehensive, high quality and cost-effective clinical service.

5. Demonstrated personal qualities of clinical leadership, including excellent engagement and communication skills, motivation, initiative, time management and commitment to negotiation and team building.

6. Demonstrated ability to innovate, implement and improve patient safety, patient flow, continuum of care and waiting times for treatment.

7. Relevant clinical management expertise. Post graduate management qualifications including Royal Australasian College of Medical Administrators Fellowship or Associate Fellowship or attendance at appropriate management courses would be highly regarded.

 

Conditions of appointment are in accordance with the Health Services Act 1997, and Staff Specialists (State) Award

Employees and Contractors must abide by the NSW Health Code of Conduct.
