This job provides an excellent opportunity to play an integral role in the development and delivery of an undergraduate teaching programme alongside clinical duties within a centre of excellence for Renal Medicine. Have completed foundation training
Are making the transition from core to specialist training and seeking to consolidate knowledge and experience
Have an interest in Medical Education

The Royal Free Hospital Renal Department is a tertiary referral, academic renal unit providing renal services to North Central London. The post offers excellent clinical experience in dialysis, transplantation, chronic kidney disease and acute kidney injury (AKI).

The postholder’s role is to develop a series of learning activities that would augment the current in-person clinical activities and online teaching sessions delivered by the renal department to 4 th year medical students of University College London medical school. The clinical commitment will be within the SHO level rota and include daytime working on the Nephrology wards, clinics and Renal Take. There is scope to expand the role to include oncall working, if the postholder desires.

The postholder’s role is to develop a series of learning activities that would augment the current in-person clinical activities and online teaching sessions delivered by the renal department to 4 th year medical students of University College London medical school. The postholder would be expected to develop and lead renal simulation sessions focused on common acute renal emergencies. They will develop this so it can be a sustainable model, delivered by other members of the department, beyond their contract. They would work along current renal staff involved in teaching to help develop teaching clinics based within the outpatient department. There will be an opportunity to study for a qualification in teaching alongside this.
