We have some exciting opportunities available at Barking and Dagenham College. We are looking for Lecturer – Performing, Production & Art and Design.

You will join us on apart-time, (35 hours per week) fixed-termbasis to 28th June 2024, and in return, we will offer a competitive salary of £24,180 – £42,232 pa inclusive of London Weighting (pro-rata’d to 0.9722 FTE)

The Lecturer – Performing, Production & Art and Design role:

Teach and assess on one or more of the courses delivered in Performing and Production Arts, or serviced, by the curriculum area and contribute to the development of existing and new, innovative provision, including the implementation of motivational, flexible and blended learning and cost-effective teaching and learning styles.


Key Responsibilities of our
 Lecturer – Performing, Production & Art and Design;

  • Develop and implement learner-centred, learner assessment strategies in accordance with college policies (which place learners at the centre and emphasise the significance of constructive and developmental feedback for successful learning)
  • Ensure that all units carried out are completed along with final major project in performing, and production arts industry practice are assessed and marked within agreed deadlines with your line manager and to support learners throughout this process
  • Keep abreast of developments in their specialist field/subject area of Performing and Production Arts and the theory and practice of education and the latest industry/sector training requirements/-standards


As a 
Lecturer – Performing, Production & Art and Design you should have the following qualifications, skills and experience:

  • Level 2 Diploma in Performing and Production Arts Industry Skills
  • Level 3 Foundation Diploma in Production Arts Practice
  • Experience of BTEC Edexcel Diploma in Performing and Production Arts Industry Skills and Foundation Diploma in Production Arts Practice
  • Working with learners to complete and assess BTEC Units in Performing and Production Arts
  • Understanding of Final Major Yearly Project for BTEC in Performing and Production Arts
  • Marking and Grading Assessments and Final Major Project
