NAS Dubai is a purpose built ‘flagship school’ generously resourced with a whole school enrolment of over 2860. This equates to 1620 in the primary school and 1240 in the secondary school. Our curriculum is based upon the legacy of the English National Curriculum adapted to the local environment leading up to GCSE at KS4 and on to the IB Diploma programme and A Levels at KS5. About the role
You will be providing personalised and specialist support on a 1:1 and small group basis with primary students.
The ideal candidate
To be considered for this position, you must have:
  • experience of providing core subject support to primary aged students
  • experience of supporting students with special educational needs or learning difficulties through the planning and delivery of small group and 1:1 intervention session
  • experience of supporting students with specific learning difficulties including dyslexia and dyscalculia, as well as ADHD
  • previous and relevant experience of working as a Learning Support Assistant (LSA) or primary teacher
  • experience of delivering a variety of specialist SEND interventions e.g. SNIP and Nessy
  • previous experience of working within the British curriculum across primary level
  • relevant qualifications including specialist SEND qualifications and training
  • a secure knowledge of online teaching platforms including MS Teams, Zoom and Seesaw
  • outstanding communication skills
  • ability to manage time effectively to ensure all administrative tasks are completed
  • drive for continuous professional development and further training
  • a good rapport with young people
  • a genuine passion for education
  • excellent interpersonal skills
  • a friendly, honest and professional manner
  • strong English skills – spoken and written
The school has high standards for its students and is looking for someone who thrives towards maintaining high academic attainment. The ideal candidate will be confident and successful in teaching students who have learning difficulties and who have followed the UK National Curriculum. The candidate’s experience should include working with primary aged students across the core subject areas. The candidate will be required to prepare and deliver one-to-one tutorials and small group teaching sessions for primary aged students. The ability to work alongside other stakeholders to enhance student participation is paramount for this role. The candidate will be supporting students, teachers and parents to develop personalised educational plans (PEPs) and to develop the provision according to the student’s specific needs.
The candidate will work alongside the Head of Inclusion, the Primary Inclusion Team and Primary class teachers/specialist teachers in order to personalise the support for individual students.
Only candidates with the relevant experience and specialist qualifications will be shortlisted for interview.
The role is for April 2024 start. Remuneration will be competitive, and it includes visa provision.
