Are you a passionate and outstanding Teacher of Maths? Do you want to make a difference beyond your own classroom? We are delighted to be offering you an opportunity to work alongside a team of highly skilled Lead practitioners who are at the forefront of developing teaching and learning across our school.

Supported by the Assistant Headteacher in charge of teaching and learning the right candidate will mentor teachers, support with quality assurance, deliver CPD and use their expert knowledge to shape the future of teaching and learning at Orchards.

Orchards Academy is a secondary school that is at the heart of the local community. At Orchards we aim to provide a caring yet challenging curriculum and environment in which the talents of each student are nurtured and enabled to flourish. The school has a relentless drive to enable students to achieve their full potential. Following the recent news that Orchards Academy has been awarded a new build by the Government, we are very excited to be expanding our highly established and successful teaching and learning team.

We are looking for an individual with a love of teaching and learning, a passion and the drive to develop their own and others’ practice. The ideal candidate should be able to demonstrate enthusiasm, commitment, the ability to reflect and a personal desire to improve and develop. The ideal candidate will be supported fully as part of the team and will be integral in ensuring teaching and learning remains at the centre of everything we do. Amongst other things this individual must;

Be passionate about Teaching and Learning and the opportunities it offers pupils.

Be able to demonstrate a track record of successful outcomes.

Have an understanding of the GCSE specification in Maths.

A deep pedagogical understanding

Have the drive to make a real difference to the lives of students.

Have a commitment and desire to develop their own practice.
