Full job description

Clinical and Care Professional Leads support south east London-wide and borough programmes of work, therefore, there is an expectation that you currently work within south east London, and for borough based roles, within that borough.

This post is designed to provide Primary Care clinical support and leadership for the transformation of diagnostic pathways across SEL. The postholder will work with Acute Provider Collaborative (APC) Diagnostic Networks and APC Diagnostic Board to drive this agenda. They will work closely with APC colleagues and the Integrated Care Board (ICB) Planned Care team as well as other specialty and borough level clinical leads working in this area.

The postholder will play a key role in driving the transformation agenda and be an advocate for innovation and improvement. Working closely with the Diagnostic Network Clinical Leads and Programme Managers, they will ensure that a clinical voice is heard and represented in the development, design and implementation of initiatives and new models of care linking with colleagues across the healthcare system to maintain input and engagement. They will have strong interpersonal and relationship management skills and will be able to work effectively with clinical and managerial colleagues across the system.

The postholder will support in the development and implementation of initiatives such as:

  • Expanding and developing demand management schemes for diagnostics
  • Development of diagnostic clinical decision support algorithms
  • Supporting the rolling out of new diagnostic digital technologies
  • Support patients to get the right test, at the right time and at the right location.
  • Exploring opportunities for expanding and enhancing community diagnostic centre utilisation
  • Develop and maintain excellent collaborative working relationships, fostering working in an integrated way across the three acute providers and with other external stakeholders.

It is not essential that you have experience of leadership at system level. We will be providing development support for all of those with the skills and appetite to step into leadership roles with SEL and are keen to ensure a more diverse range of clinical and care professionals able to participate in system leadership roles – better reflecting our ambitions around integration and the multidisciplinary nature of care, as well as the diversity of the communities we serve.

From the Catford Cat to the Brixton Windmill and Chislehurst Caves, South East London is a vibrant, fun, unique and richly diverse place to live, grow, learn and work.

The South East London Integrated Care System (SELICS) brings together the organisations responsible for health and care services in south east London, making the greatest possible contribution to the health and wellbeing of people living in our six boroughs.

SELICS is made up of staff working in many different roles, in different settings, employed in different ways, by a wide range of partner organisations, and are at the centre of our collective ambition for greater integration and better care. Employing organisations include NHS Trusts, GP practices, Social Care and Voluntary sector organisations, social enterprises, dental surgeries, pharmacies and optometrists. We have an ambitious People Strategy that brings these partners together to deliver the ‘one workforce’ ambition, making the health and care system a better place to work and live.
