Full job description

Are you an experienced, strategic health and care leader looking for an opportunity to contribute as an independent non-executive for an Integrated Care System? We’re seeking to appoint two Associate Non-Executive Members to sit on, at least one, of NHS South West London’s statutory committees to provide independent scrutiny and assurance. This is an exciting time to join a dynamic organisation in delivering health care across South West London as we move forward into our third year of operation with a focus on embracing the opportunities and current challenges to better serve our community. These roles are critical in the effective operation of relevant committees and contribution to the overall goals of improving population health, tackling inequalities, enhancing productivity, and supporting broader social and economic development.

Key Responsibilities:
Support and provide independent challenge and scrutiny to ensure committee effectiveness across specific areas of the ICB’s work, such as finance, planning, workforce, quality, and performance.

Work with the Chair of the Committee, to ensure the Committee is focused on delivering the organisations statutory commitments and priorities improving population health, tackling inequalities, enhancing productivity, and supporting social and economic development.

Work with the Committee Chairs, executive directors, and partners to set strategic directions and ensure robust internal controls.

Promote open, transparent decision-making and foster a culture of continuous improvement.

NHS South West London Integrated Care Board (ICB), as part of South West London Integrated Care System (ICS), is a partnership of organisations that come together to plan and deliver joined up health and care services to improve the lives of people in our six boroughs: Croydon, Merton, Kingston, Richmond, Sutton, and Wandsworth.

Each ICS consists of two statutory elements:
an Integrated Care Board, bringing the NHS together with its partners locally to improve health and care services.

an Integrated Care Partnership (ICP): the broad alliance of organisations and representatives concerned with improving the care, health and wellbeing of the population, jointly convened by the ICB and local authorities in the area

ICBs are statutory NHS bodies responsible for planning and allocating resources to meet the four core purposes of integrated care systems (ICSs):

to improve outcomes in population health and healthcare;

tackle inequalities in outcomes, experience and access;

enhance productivity and value for money and;

help the NHS support broader social and economic development.

NHS South West London Integrated Care Board decides how the South West London NHS budget is spent and develops plans to improve people’s health, deliver higher quality care, and better value for money.
