Responsibilities

  • This position is directly responsible for coordinating and ensuring compliance with the required FRA and Metro-North testing and inspection procedures for all West of Hudson and East of Hudson wayside signal systems
  • Additionally, this position requires direct coordination with the maintenance of equipment department senior personnel in all cab signal interfaces and post-incident investigations
  • Directly responsible for ensuring the accuracy of the mission-critical testing, inspection, and documentation of the East and West of Hudson wayside signal system as mandated by the FRA and Metro-North requirements
  • Direct personnel in safe inspection and testing procedures
  • Uniquely responsible for investigating malfunctions, as a source expert, at interlockings, wayside locations, grade crossing, yards, and right-of-way
  • One of the “first responders” for safety incidents
  • Generate required reports & documents as necessary
  • Manage the signal department’s computerized tracking system for signal systems and component testing
  • Serve as technical liaison for Operating Rules and investigations between the Signal Department and other Metro-North Operating Departments

Position Objective:
