As we seek to make and build disciples, we want to strength a trellis-and-vine team-ministry culture that equips and develops lay leadership, and to grow in our effectiveness in local evangelism, including of youth.
Key Responsibilities:
To oversee and lead our parish-wide youth ministry for yrs6-12 by:
- letting your progress in life and doctrine be a model for others
- prayerfully leading the Bible teaching of our youth ministry
- strengthening the key structures of our youth ministry (currently combined Friday nights, Sunday small groups across two sites, and two annual camps)
- recruiting, training, and overseeing the ministry of lay youth leaders
- ensuring that our youth ministry structures both edify and equip our youth for growth in Christ and evangelism
- partnering with congregational ministers to equip parents in family discipleship
- ensuring that all our youth ministry complies with Safe Ministry practices
To serve as a member of the ministry team in the leadership of NCA Church-wide ministries, through:
- opportunities to preach and lead on a rostered basis at English-speaking adult congregations
- teaching local SRE at one of our local primary schools
- serving in occasional kids’, youth, or community ministry events
- being part of our church-wide evangelism strategy
Requirements:
- conviction that ministry grows through the prayerful teaching of God’s Word and the gospel
- theological training (ideally degree level) and relevant ministry experience
- willingness to work in a team that has conservative reformed evangelical convictions, including a complementarian understanding of the roles of men and women in ministry
- personal spiritual maturity for a significant ministry leadership role
- gifted in handling the Word of God, and bringing it to bear in people’s lives faithfully, creatively, and practically, both in public and in private
- the ability to disciple youth and partner with parents, and to train others in this work
- proven ability to build, oversee and direct a ministry team
- a commitment to investing heavily in the lives of youth ministry leaders
- valid Working With Children Check, up-to-date Safe Ministry Training, and a commitment to full compliance with Faithfulness in Service
