About the role
This is a challenging and exciting role that requires the successful candidate to collect and deliver vehicles from around the county and vehicle workshops across Essex. Occasionally undertake light vehicle repairs such as bulbs, batteries, wiper blades etc. on fleet vehicles. You will undertake daily maintenance checks i.e. oil level, tyre depths & light checks on Transport Services vehicles you are using reporting any defects to Workshop Management. This will include regular cleaning and general upkeep of vehicles being used.
What do I need to do for the role
Your application needs to demonstrate your experience of driving recovery type vehicles and provide evidence of the following:
A full driving Licence with a minimum of C1 driving category.
Knowledge of vehicle recovery techniques and minor repair skills would be an advantage; however, we are able to provide some training on this.
Have excellent knowledge of H&S legislation, you’ll also be able to make quick, informed decisions.
Be able to Maintain accurate paperwork and can have the ability to write clear and concise reports when required.
Flexible, Proactive, Team Player who works well with others.
Working effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
Drive vehicles responsibly and safety, obeying traffic laws and highway code.

Experience and understanding of health & safety at work.
You have a full driving licence with Category C1.
Able to demonstrate exceptional customer service.

Essex Police offer incremental increases within this salary band, therefore the salary for this position will rise to a maximum of £24,462.00.
