Job Title: Van Courier/Relief Controller – Night Shift
Location: 1 Mabledon Place, WC1H 9AX
Salary range: Up to £34,00 DOE

Due to the nature of work that Sonic Healthcare UK undertakes, our clients require that Employees filling certain roles, need, as part of their on-boarding to complete a DBS Check. This role falls in to the category of requiring a DBS check (standard)
About the role:
An opportunity has arisen for an Night Shift Van Courier / Controller to join the Courier team at our Central London location for 42 hours per week. Although the role is based in our main laboratory at 1 Mabledon Place, the successful applicant will be expected to travel to various locations within the UK along with providing Courier Controller Cover when required.
The role involves collecting samples from clients and their safe and efficient delivery to the company premises, as well as the delivery of reports, supplies and other goods to clients. The position will also involve carrying out duties in line with the ‘Courier Procedures Manual’ and to ensure that communication procedures are operational during duties. The successful candidate will have experience of working within the courier or healthcare field and at least 5 years driving experience. You will also be required to have excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work on your own initiative and as part of a team.
Please be aware that this role involves dealing with Blood Transfusion and Major Haemorrhage situations. Please note, driving will take up a large part of your working day and as it is a 4 on 4 off shift, you will be expected to work weekends/Bank Holidays.You are also expected to provide a high quality, proactive and professional Courier Controlling service for The Doctors Laboratory.
The role involves the controlling of The Doctors Laboratory Courier fleet to meet the needs of our clients efficiently and to a high service level, to process paperwork accurately and efficiently, to ensure all duties are carried out in line with standards defined by Clinical Pathology Accreditation (UK) ltd and any other regulatory body defined by the company. To be considered for this role you will have experience of working within the courier field, excellent written and verbal communication skills, the ability to work on your own and as part of a team and a good standard of IT skills.
Key requirements:
- Must have Controller experience
- Have full clean driving licence
- Must have own Courier Insurance
