Full job description
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the housing team at Woking Borough Council.
We are seeking a motivated, flexible, and pro-active person to join our Housing Team. The role will involve all aspects of managing the temporary accommodation portfolio of Woking Borough Council.
You will have responsibility for the day-to-day management over 200 homes consisting of flats, houses and HMOs. This will include rent management, sign ups, termination of agreements, assisting those moving into permanent accommodation, general management, all the while comminuicating effectively with those temporarily housed.
You will be a member of the wider housing team and will work with colleagues in the housing management team including rents, repairs, the rough sleeping team, housing needs, allocations and homelessness.
As well as working with Woking Borough Council colleagues you will be expected to liaise with local partners including the police, other social landlords, Domestic Abuse Organisations, Surrey County Council and others as required to assist those more complex households.
You will be expected to effectively use the housing management database, update case files and be well orgainsed.
The successful candidate will be a team player and have experience of working in and managing social housing with a good knowledge of up to do date relevant legislation.
A full driver’s licence and access to your own vehicle is essential for this role.

As this job involves contact with vulnerable groups, successful applicants will be required to obtain a Disclosure Certificate from the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS). Assistance will be given by the Council and further details can be found in the job pack.
