Ashcroft Technology Academy is one of the leading secondary schools in the country: graded outstanding by OfSTED in 2021, five times over-subscribed in Year 7 and over-subscribed in the Sixth Form. Our progress 8 score places us in the top 30 schools in the country, the outcomes our Sixth Form students achieve are the best in South West London, student attendance places us in the top 5 schools in the country and student behaviour is excellent – with strong systems in place to support all members of staff.
This is an exciting opportunity for a well-qualified, enthusiastic and highly motivated teacher of French and Spanish to join our large, vibrant and forward-looking languages’ team from September 2025. The successful candidate will be able to deliver French at Key Stage 3, Key Stage 4 and Key Stage 5. French and Spanish are offered in both the A-Level and International Baccalaureate programmes of study, which makes for a rewarding post-16 teaching experience. An interest in, and understanding of, curriculum design and cognitive science, a commitment to continuing professional development and a commitment to the Academy’s extra-curricular programme are necessary for this role.
In return, we provide high quality and well-resourced facilities, a genuine commitment to professional development, with excellent opportunities for career development and professional learning, and a very committed, visible and supportive Leadership Group and Curriculum Manager.

A quote from our recent Ofsted inspection (September 2021) when the Academy was graded to be “OUTSTANDING”:
“Leaders make sure that all pupils receive an excellent education, both in and outside of the classroom. Pupils know that staff want them to excel and aim high for the future. Leaders are just as ambitious for students in the sixth form.”

We take the ‘business’ of education very seriously. We believe that students can only give of their very best and achieve well if they are able to learn in a well-ordered and well-managed environment. In order to achieve this, we operate a very strict discipline code which promotes positive learning behaviours. Our teachers and support staff are crucial in managing this environment, which we know they cannot do entirely on their own. You will be very well-supported in the Academy by the Leadership Group so that you can easily deliver and support in lessons in an environment in which students are not known to disrupt learning. In fact, the support you will receive from all staff will be second to none. In departments there is a strong sense of camaraderie, new members of staff are assigned a ‘buddy’ and we operate a breakfast PD schedule, termly PD activities and a whole host of extra-curricular activities and trips – so you will very quickly be able to involve yourself in all aspects of Academy life and get to know colleagues in all subject areas. Whichever stage of your career you are at, we are looking for people who share our drive and ambition to give our students an outstanding learning experience.
