Do you like a challenge? A unique and exciting opportunity has presented itself within the Anti-Human Trafficking and Modern Slavery Operation Unit within the Westminster, London. We are looking for a flexible and highly motivated person with exceptional people skills who relishes the opportunity to empower vulnerable individuals to regain control of their lives.

Key Responsibilities:

The role of Specialist Support Worker is fundamental to the Salvation Army’s desire to help vulnerable clients achieve positive outcomes and as such you will be passionate, target driven, dynamic and demonstrate an in-depth knowledge of services for vulnerable clients in a competitive climate. You will also champion excellence in terms of ensuring our clients are central to our services and successful individual outcomes are achieved.

As a Specialist Support Worker, you will provide a high-quality frontline service to victims of human trafficking, including sexual exploitation, domestic servitude, forced labour and other forms of exploitation. Delivering a service to those at highest risk as well as working within a multi-agency framework including the Home Office, police, medical practitioners, local authorities, housing providers, legal representatives, etc.

The successful candidate(s) will be able to demonstrate:

  • Extensive experience working within a supported accommodation environment
  • Level 3 NVQ qualification or equivalent in a related field or be willing to work towards it
  • An understanding of legislation relating to Health and Safety and safeguarding of clients and staff
  • Ability to work within the Christian ethos of The Salvation Army
  • Experience of working with vulnerable clients in programme area associated with the specialism
  • Conduct risk assessments, devise Person Centred Support Plans and facilitation methods to promote client engagement and successful outcomes
  • Can deliver a client focussed service which undertakes holistic support needs, risk assessments and identifies appropriate support
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to successfully work independently and within a team
