11.45 am – 1.15 pm Monday to Friday (7.5 hours per week)
39 weeks, term-time only (plus training days)
About us:
Castlebar School is an outstanding special school for primary aged children with severe and complex learning difficulties. We are looking for enthusiastic and patient School Meals Supervisory Assistants to join our team as soon as possible. We offer a warm and welcoming environment with a fantastic and supportive team and excellent opportunities for professional development.
The main purpose of the role:
- The role entails supervising our pupils whilst eating their lunch, as well in the playground
- Supporting children with their relationships, organising activities to enable pupils to engage with others, and ensuring the health and safety of all children
About you:
- A caring, patient, and empathetic approach when working with children with special needs
- Experience of working with children, preferably in an inclusive setting
- Good communication skills, with good spoken and written English (To be tested at interview)
- To be able to form good relationships with children
- Ability to stay calm, patient and understanding when engaging with our pupils
- Ability to work as part of a team and form good relationships with other team members to ensure effective lunchtime supervision
- Be able to follow school policy and procedures
- Be prepared to attend training courses, including first aid
