Responsibilities
- This includes driving the strategy and execution of our patent, trademark, and copyright portfolios, IP counseling (including support for M&A and other transactions), and disputes
- Drive the strategy and execution of our patent and trademark portfolio
- Advise on what inventions to protect and how best to protect them, working with internal patent engineers and external patent counsel
- Oversee our trademark enforcement program
- Review and assess incoming patent license demands and patent infringement allegations
- Develop freedom to operate strategies
- Draft cease and desist letters and other correspondence relating to infringement of intellectual property, and handle resolution of routine matters as the primary point of contact with adversarial parties
- Work closely and cross-functionally with other members of the Spotify legal team to provide hard IP input on product counseling and transactional matters

As Spotify’s Head of Intellectual Property, you will be responsible for managing the company‘s patent and trademark risk and overseeing protection of the company’s technology and brands. This includes driving the strategy and execution of our patent, trademark, and copyright portfolios, IP counseling (including support for M&A and other transactions), and disputes.
What You’ll Do

The United States base range for this position is $198,441-$283,487, plus equity. The benefits available for this position include health insurance, six month paid parental leave, 401(k) retirement plan, 23 paid days off, 13 paid flexible holidays.
