Website Ernest Bevin Academy
Ernest Bevin Academy is a four form entry boys’ school within the United Learning Trust. The current roll is 650 students, including approximately 200 in the co-educational Sixth Form. The school is led by the Principal with a dedicated SLT. The Head of Year leads a team of tutors who are responsible for the wellbeing of their year and in Sixth Form there is a tutor team. The ethos of the school is one of high expectations of behaviour and learning combined with a warm, friendly and positive environment. The school has a stable and committed staff who have high expectations of themselves and their students and who work very hard to meet individual needs. We like to look after our staff by providing support and training and a good environment in which to work. Staff are invited to join staff sporting activities and use the swimming facilities and fitness suite. The school buildings include a Drama Studio, Science Laboratories and Food Technology Room in addition to the Sixth Form Centre and Sports Complex which includes a 25m swimming pool, a gym, a large sports hall and a dojo. We are extremely proud of the academic achievements of our students. In 2024 our boys exceeded all national progress levels for boys in maintained schools and we reported a positive progress 8 score, one of the highest progress scores in Wandsworth. Ernest Bevin is part of United Learning, a large, and growing, group of schools aiming to offer a life-changing education to children and young people across England. United Learning is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. All positions are subject to an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring check from the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) and shortlisted candidates will be subject to an online check.
