We are seeking an experienced Fire Health and Safety Advisor to join our busy team!

Capita have been partnered with Central London Community Healthcare (CLCH) since 2015, to provide effective and efficient corporate support to help protect investment in frontline services and allow CLCH’s clinical teams to focus on providing the best possible patient care. We support across eleven London boroughs and Hertfordshire.

This is a Hybrid role based at Parson’s green however regular travel across sites is a core component of this position across CLCH locations. A driving licence would be desirable.

Job Description:

What you’ll be doing :

 

  • Undertake Fire Safety Risk Assessments for all sites and develop, track and support Estates and Facilities colleagues in completing the health and safety premises checklist.
  • Provide expert advice and support to Estates and Facilities colleagues on the application and interpretation of health and safety legislation.
  • Assist the Health, Safety and Fire Manager to co-ordinate and monitor actions arising from fire risk assessments, including 3rd party fire risk assessments (Landlords)
  • Be responsible for the planning and the undertaking of fire risk assessments at all sites agreed with the client.
  • Provide input into the development and review of the training programme for fire safety
  • Deliver in conjunction with the client, corporate induction training and fire evacuation training on the inpatient wards.
  • Develop and manage communication chains with external regulatory bodies such as the Fire Authority, and Health & Safety Executive, on behalf of the client, as appropriate.

 

What we’re looking for :

 

  • Degree in a fire related discipline or equivalent Specialist Training to Diploma level or equivalent experience
  • Substantial experience in a fire safety role
  • Registered as a fire risk assessor with a recognised accredited body
  • NEBOSH National General Certificate
  • Experience of working in a healthcare environment, in particular in-patient units, or similar.
  • Extensive experience, knowledge and application of;

o Fire Safety

o Fire Risk Management

o Fire Legislation and Codes of Practice

o Building Regulations

  • Experience of developing and implementing Fire Safety and Health & Safety strategy, policies and procedures
  • Experience of fire safety training delivery
  • Comprehensive knowledge of fire safety legislation
