We are recruiting a highly organised and client-focused Events Manager to join our Rapport team at one of our prestigious client offices in London. Our client is one of the Big Four Accountancy firms in the world. You will lead a small team in the seamless execution of a diverse range of events, ensuring exceptional experiences for clients and guests.
This is a hands-on and proactive role that requires actively seeking opportunities to improve efficiencies and enhance the overall business environment, specialising in both internal and external client experiences, from small meetings to large conferences.
Type of contract: Full-time, Permanent
Hours: 40 per week (Monday-Friday). Overtime beyond these service hours may be required as per business needs.
The Events Manager role is ideal for someone who is passionate about delivering exceptional service, taking responsibility for their contribution to the team, consistently seeks innovative ways to enhance guest services while demonstrating flexibility and adaptability, and eagerness to learn and grow with a proactive attitude.
Main responsibilities
- Managing and mentoring a team of two Events Specialists, providing guidance, support, and performance feedback
- Delegating tasks effectively, ensuring team members have clear responsibilities and deadlines
- Identifying training and development needs within the team and facilitating opportunities for growth
- Overseeing all aspects of event planning and execution, from initial concept to post-event evaluation
- Acting as the primary point of escalation for all event-related matters, resolving issues promptly and efficiently
- Developing and maintaining strong relationships with key stakeholders, including clients, vendors, and internal departments
- Contributing to the overall success of the Rapport team by fostering a collaborative and supportive work environment
- Owning the delivery of the annual calendar of events, ensuring alignment with client objectives and budget
- Collaborating with clients to understand their needs and translate them into creative and impactful event concepts
- Managing event budgets effectively, tracking expenses and identifying cost-saving opportunities
- Collecting, analysing, and presenting event data to demonstrate return on investment and inform future planning
- Reviewing and updating Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to streamline processes and enhance efficiency
The ideal candidate will

- Have proven track record managing a team in a fast-paced events environment
- Possess exceptional organisational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Demonstrate strong communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills, with the ability to build rapport with stakeholders at all levels
- Be highly proficient in event management software and tools
- Have a proactive and solutions-oriented approach, with a keen eye for detail, and commitment to delivering exceptional service
