As a WSET Educator, your primary role is to deliver engaging, high-quality sessions that help students achieve WSET qualifications in wine, spirits, sake, and beer. You will foster an inspiring learning environment, teaching courses across varied schedules (daytime, evenings, weekends) to accommodate student needs. Additionally, you will support the Tastings and Events Manager in executing a diverse range of exciting evening events, contributing to the success of our vibrant 100+ event program.

Teaching

  • In the region of 650 hours annual contact time on courses, webinars, events and exams including a minimum of 2 evenings per week and 1 Saturday per month
  • Undertake lesson observations in line with School Policy
  • Ensure all courses are delivered to WSET School London’s high-quality standard.
  • Mark student work including mock exams and coursework.
  • Invigilate and assist at exams both on and offsite, including key Diploma exam dates across the year
  • Contribute to annual Educator meetings, reviewing samples and teaching best practice.

Events

  • Support the Tastings and Events Manager to deliver a diverse programme of circa 100 in-person tasting events per year
  • Speaker liaison – act as a point of contact for expert guest and internal speakers, obtaining event copy, sample requests and answering queries
  • Work with the Operations Team to ensure events are set up according to a high-quality standard
  • Create and proof events materials, including written tasting sheets and presentations
  • Manage the monthly reporting of events, collating costs and revenue
  • Manage and organise requests for private tastings
  • Devise and host introductory events to attract new audiences to drinks education
  • Host occasional webinars, introducing speakers and acting as technical support during the session
  • Student Deals Card – manage and build deals for students, creating and maintaining relationships with SDC partners

General

  • Promote WSET School London as a flagship provider of WSET qualifications.
  • Support the strategy and objectives of WSET School London, contributing to meetings, events and other commitments as required
  • Help at wider WSET Global events and marketing content as requested.
  • Complete relevant CPD as identified.
  • Complete all work in line with WSET policies and procedures.
  • Contribute to the Trust by undertaking other various tasks as required.

Core Competencies:

  • Hold the Level 3 Award in Wines, other WSET qualifications are beneficial
  • Experience in teaching or communicating about drinks
  • Excellent attention to detail with experience in completing administrative tasks
  • Experience in providing exceptional customer service
  • Excellent IT skills – competent in Microsoft programs including Excel Powerpoint, CRM

Desirable Attributes:

  • Completed WSET Educator Training Programme
  • WSET Level 4 Diploma in Wines
  • Experience running events
  • Knowledge/experience of UK drinks industry, on or off trade
  • Related education qualification
  • As well as wine, we welcome applications from people with specialties in Spirits, Sake and Beer

 

Salary Range: £34,000 -£37,600

Office Based – No Remote working
