Responsibilities
- Function of Beauty seeks an experienced Lead Copywriter to steer creative brainstorming and shape brand campaigns and major brand moments with culturally relevant insightful copy directions and storytelling
- Bring your sharp vision to elevate our tone of voice, building strong guidelines for verbal brand communication across all consumer touch points
- Flex between ideating, writing, and proofreading, there is no assignment too big or small
- You’ll ensure the integrity of the brand is consistent across all channels
- The ideal candidate is collaborative, feels comfortable presenting to the C-suite, and works with attention to detail and a “can-do” attitude
- This hybrid role requires 3 days of office work (our office is located in Noho)
- This role reports to the Creative Director
- Refine brand voice and establish strong guidelines for our unique tone of voice
- Translate guidelines and direct freelance copywriters/ agencies to ensure consistency of tone of voice across all brand touchpoints
- Partner with the Creative Director on concepting brand campaigns and brand moments, bringing unique ideas and POV to the table
- Craft engaging, intelligent, and witty storylines and copy, including product copy, print and digital assets, visual merchandising copy, video scripts, and supers
- Work closely with Brand Marketing, Growth, and Retention teams to write interesting, educational, performing content for emails, websites, digital ads, product pages (DTC/ retail), blogs
- Create names and write copy for seasonal sets
- Manage and proofread copy documents
- Collaborate with the legal department on claims and product copy
- You can lead and steer creative work by offering guidance, inspiration, and clarity on our brand and voice
- You are adept at working across multiple mediums, including web, emails, retail, packaging, video scripts, direct mail, advertising, and more
- You can work independently and is a stickler for details and deadlines
