The Post term time jobs

The College is seeking to appoint a dynamic, enthusiastic and hardworking College Administrator. To work in the Careers Department assisting the Work Experience Coordinator. The post holder will support the Work Experience Coordinator in advertising work experience opportunities and facilitating all necessary documentation for students. Toundertake work experience and liaising with external agencies, parents and students. The successful applicant will also provide general administrative support in the Careers Department and other areas of the college as required.

The post is available immediately on a permanent, part-time basis (16.46%).The post holder must work 7 hours per week, term-time only. Either on one day per week (with a 45-minute unpaid lunch break) or two half days per week. Ideally, one of those days will fall on a Tuesday, but there is flexibility regarding which day(s) of the week are worked.

We anticipate that the post holder will spend the majority of their time working specifically in the Careers area, but they will need to adopt a flexible approach to working according to demand and the time in the academic year.

The post requires excellent organisational and people skills. Previous experience of working with students aged 16-19 is desirable, but not essential. The post holder will spend a significant amount of the working day in a busy office environment and will be required to handle phone calls from parents and interested parties, as well as face-to-face interactions with students.

The post carries an expectation for some occasional mandatory evening activities (Open Evenings and Careers events).

The Department

The Department is housed in a specially designed area of the Enhancement Building, which includes an open plan area for discussion with students, a breakout area and a careers office for one-to-one interviews with students. Our Department also has access to a lecture space for visiting speakers.

The post holder will work closely with the well-established Department of four other staff, who work closely as a team in a friendly and co-operative manner.

Salary

The starting salary for this post is £3,755.02 (£22,813 FTE) per annum, rising by annual increments to £3,967.68 (£24,105 FTE).

  • Any experience you have of working as part of a team
  • Any other relevant experience relating to the post
