Casual Teacher
Applications are invited for a Casual Teacher for Campbelltown Anglican Schools (CAS).

Campbelltown Anglican School Council
Campbelltown Anglican Schools Council delivers Christian Education to 1,800 students from the
Macarthur community through St Peter’s Anglican Grammar, St Peter’s Heart, and Broughton Anglican
College.

The vision of Campbelltown Anglican Schools Council is to be a beacon to South – West Sydney that
proclaims the gospel of forgiveness, hope and life through Jesus Christ, providing quality, visionary
educational opportunities, encouraging a journey of lifelong learning.

Mission
To educate young people in ways consistent with the teaching of the Bible, the gospel of Jesus Christ,
and the doctrines of the Anglican Church in the Diocese of Sydney, through maintaining and upholding
the Christian faith in teaching and learning.

Broughton Anglican College
Broughton Anglican College is a Pre Kinder to Year 12 Christian School in the Macarthur region and
provides exceptional educational opportunities to more than 1,400 students. Staff enjoy an innovative
teaching environment with supportive peers, students and parents.

St Peter’s Anglican Grammar
St Peter’s Anglican Grammar is a Pre-Kinder to Year 6 Christian School in the Macarthur region with
approximately 500 students. St Peter’s participation in the International Baccalaureate PYP framework
provides staff and students with innovative teaching, learning and experiences.

St Peter’s Heart
St Peter’s Heart is a special school catering for students with mild to moderate intellectual disability
and/or mild to moderate Autism Spectrum Disorder from Kindergaten to Year 6.

Responsible to: Principal of Broughton Anglican College/ St Peters Anglican Grammar/ St Peter’s
Heart

Award: Teachers (Hybrid Model) Multi-Enterprise Agreement 2021

About you:
Campbelltown Anglican Schools is unashamedly Christian and seeks to employ practising
protestant Christian staff who can contribute to the vision and mission.

Main Objective:
The position of the Teacher is to ensure the pastoral, spiritual and academic needs of all students
in their care are met. The successful candidate will be an appropriately qualified teacher with the
ability to utilise effective teaching and learning strategies. The candidate will demonstrate strong
classroom management skills and the ability to work collaboratively with other staff members to
maintain a safe learning environment for all students within the school.

C asual Teacher

Duties include:

General Duties
• Complying with the professional expectations of CAS to deliver high quality Christian Education.

  • Effectively managing and teaching allocated classes, following provided teaching plans or at times

collaboratively designed teaching plans.

  • Active supervision of assigned playground duties, ensuring students are safe and playground

matters are addressed promptly.

Other
• The list of key responsibilities is not exhaustive and is subject to change with the changing needs of

CAS. There is an expectation that the Casual Teacher will undertake other duties from time to time
as directed by the Principal/s of Broughton Anglican College, St Peter’s Anglican College, St Peter’s
Anglican Grammar and St Peter’s Heart.

Casual Teacher

Selection Criteria:

The Casual Teacher should have:

Christian Faith:
• A practising protestant Christian, active in service in their local Church.

Personal Attributes:
• Have a commitment to a Christian philosophy of education.

Experience and Qualifications
• Have a minimum accreditation level of Conditional Accreditation.

  • Have a current registration with NESA – Eligibililty to teach in NSW.
  • Have a current Working with Children Check clearance number.
Desirable Selection Criteria:
• Understanding of inquiry/student centred learning.

  • Understanding of the International Baccalaureate Primary Year Programme (St Peter’s Anglican

Grammar Teachers Only).

  • information addressing the selection criteria and duties description
  • resume / CV
  • at least three references or referee contact details, one of whom should be the Senior Minister of

the Christian community you serve within who can support your application.

  • A statement of personal Christian faith and character including Church involvement.
  • current Photo ID

The successful applicant will be asked to provide a NSW Working with Children’s Check number to
allow CAS to undertake the verification of the applicant’s Working with Children’s Check status prior
to a final offer of appointment being made.

Applications should be recieved by the Principal made via this application form.

Applications will be considered as they are received. CAS has the right and discretion to interview
and appoint an applicant as Casual Teacher at any time.
