The University of Portsmouth London Pathway College (LPC) is seeking an experienced Admissions Officer to join our team. This role is an exciting opportunity for someone with a strong background in international admissions and a passion for supporting students through their academic journey. You will be responsible for managing applications and providing excellent service to prospective students, ensuring a smooth and efficient admissions process.
As the Admissions Officer, you will play a key role in supporting LPC’s admissions function, working closely with the University’s global admissions team, recruitment staff, and other key stakeholders. You will manage a wide range of applications, making decisions based on set entry criteria, and ensuring that applicants receive a positive and seamless experience throughout the process.
You will also collaborate with various teams to maintain an exceptional standard of customer service and contribute to the ongoing success of the Pathway College. The role requires someone with excellent organisational skills, the ability to work under pressure, and a keen understanding of international education systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the admissions process for the LPC, from initial application through to enrolment
- Review and assess applications for both undergraduate and postgraduate pathways
- Work with international agents, prospective students, and staff to support the recruitment process
- Ensure timely responses to enquiries and applications
- Collaborate with the University of Portsmouth’s Global Admissions Team and other stakeholders
- Provide detailed advice and guidance to prospective students on entry requirements and admissions procedures
- Process student fees and support in the administration of student payments
- Prepare and maintain accurate records, reports, and statistical data on admissions trends
- Ensure compliance with admissions regulations and University policies
- Assist in the delivery of orientation activities and other student support services
Essential Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
- Proven experience in international admissions, particularly with pathway providers
- Strong understanding of UK Higher Education systems and entry requirements
- Experience using CRM and student record systems, ideally SITS
- Strong interpersonal skills with experience of working in a multicultural environment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Desirable Requirements:
- Experience in a pathway college or university admissions role
- Fluency in a language other than English
- Knowledge of education services marketing and customer relationship management
